YEDA is one of the first group national development zones approved by the Chinese Central Government, and is located on the seaside of Shandong Peninsula. In addition, it lies at the geometrical center of Beijing, Shanghai, and Seoul. In addition, there are an export processing zone and a resort zone in it. All in all, YEDA is designated as a foreign-oriented modern industrial town.

Having successfully passed the Authentication of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, YEDA has been recognized as one of the demonstration areas for Environmental Management over the National Industrial Towns by the United Nations Environmental Program. In the 2003 evaluation of national development zones, YEDA ranked 8th in terms of comprehensive economic strength, and rated 1st among all the development zones in Shandong Province.
The number of countries and regions that have made investments in YEDA has reached 33. In terms of the value of investment, South Korea, the United States, Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan come the first five. Machinery, automobile and auto parts, electronic information, fine fiber, pharmacy, and foodstuff processing have become the pillar industries. Among all the 500 Fortune Companies, 22 have made investments in YEDA; namely, they are General Motors, Henkel, Hyundai, LG, Daewoo, Denso, Toyota Tsusho, and Asahi Kasei, producing brand products like automobiles, Henkel Loctite anaerobic glues, LG mobile phones, Daewoo excavators, Daewoo machine tools and Denso air conditioners.
In order to provide better service to the investors, we established the investment promotion bureau, which is engaged in a whole-process service covering preliminary negotiations, sites selecting, final approval, and obtaining business license. We would like to stay with investors to do what they can do and help them with what they cannot with the aim of enabling the investors to enjoy the services that they may not have at their hometowns and carrying out the whole preferential polices of national development zones entrusted by the Central Government. In this sense, the purpose of setting up this website is to facilitate the investors to understand the investment environment, investment polices, and procedures, and to better exchange investment information and enhance efficiency.
