The Investment Promotion Agency (IPA) is one of the departments under the Administrative Committee of Yantai Economic & Technological Development Area (YEDA), which is engaged in projects approving, investment promotion, sites selecting for projects, land use approving, facilities construction promotion, foreign and overseas Chinese affairs. The main responsibilities are stated as follows:

Responsible for working out policies, strategies, working plans and executing programs against the investment promotion.

Responsible for discussing, following up, preliminary approval, final approval and related promoting works against the domestic and foreign funded projects; promoting the existing enterprises expanding their production sizes, approving the changes and alternations related to the contracts and constitutions of the existing enterprises, issuing the "Certificate of Approval" for establishment of enterprises with foreign investment on behalf of the Administrative Committee of YEDA.

Responsible for organizing and executing the grand events for investment promotion, controlling the projects under negotiations and constructions, including collecting and following up the information against the projects.

Responsible for contacting the State ministries and commissions, domestic investment organizations, representative offices of the foreign governments and enterprises, Chinese commercial Attaches to foreign countries, including providing the relevant advices.

Responsible for promoting investment for Yantai European Industrial Park, contacting and coordinating with Yantai Taiwanese Investment Area, Yantai Returned Students Pioneering Park and Yantai Golden Beach Resort Area for related projects in those areas, organizing and coordinating the regarded units to execute the examination, evaluation and plans against the related projects.

Responsible for reporting to the higher authority against the approved projects, statistic works, annually examining and files collecting, on behalf of the Administrative Committee of YEDA, editing and issuing brochures or pamphlets for investment promotion.

Responsible for the qualification examination, contacting, administrating and services against the entrusted organizations and counselors for investment promotion.

Responsible for facility sites selecting and approving for the industrial projects, coordinating and pushing the public utilities supply to the projects under preparation and construction, pushing forward the projects running into operation.

Responsible for foreign and overseas Chinese affairs. ¡¡
